How to become a member
If you are not covered by a national branch please contact the IAML Treasurer to join the International Association directly. Direct member dues are 50.50 euros (individual) and 90.00 euros (institutional), renewed by 28 February 2026 for the 2026 membership year.
In 2025, the IAML General Assembly in Salzburg voted to adopt a membership discount based on country GDP: IAML Membership Fees by Country GDP (2026) (PDF). The IAML Outreach Committee prepared the motion based on identical calculations devised and adopted by the International Musicological Society (IMS) in 2023. The Outreach Committee is grateful to the IMS for pioneering this work, and for meeting with chair Janneka Guise in 2024 to provide background and context.
Members of the International Association receive Fontes Artis Musicae, benefit from reduced members’ rates for attendance at the annual international congress and online events throughout the year, have the right to vote in elections for officers of the International Association, and access to members-only content on the website. Please note that institutional members receive Fontes Artis Musicae in print, whereas individual members have access to the electronic version of Fontes Artis Musicae by default, but can switch to the print version by editing their profile or by contacting the treasurer. Individual members must be logged in to the website to read Fontes online.
